Although Fuengirola is especially known for its beaches, many are surprised to discover how many great hiking routes are very close to the city. Within a short drive, you can reach the mountains of Mijas, the natural trails of Benalmádena, and several seaside walking routes.

One of the easiest and most pleasant walking routes in Fuengirola is around Sohail Castle and along the Fuengirola River. The route is flat and perfect for a leisurely stroll, making it a regular spot for many winter visitors to go for a walk.

A typical walk in this area is usually about 3 to 5 kilometers, although it’s easy to extend the route by continuing toward the promenade. Many of our guests say they start their day here, as the area is peaceful and the scenery is especially beautiful in the morning.
